Ending a systemic problem

Editor's comment March 2025.

Hello lovely readers! March always brings with it a feeling of hope, with spring and warmer, lighter days on their way. As we put more distance between ourselves and the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear to see how far pharmacy has come five years later, and how far it is yet to go. I think it is important for us take a moment not only to remember those who lost their lives, but to also recognise the bravery shown by healthcare workers of every ilk across the UK.

This month, I had the opportunity to speak with Ruth Brock, CEO at The Hygiene Bank, about the important work the charity is doing to not only combat hygiene poverty on the ground, but to raise awareness to end this systemic problem.

The Health Calendar shines a light on all the ways you can get involved in Bowel Cancer Awareness Month in the pharmacy and prepare your campaign assets for April.

Our Counter Conversations series on focuses on listening effectively. If you haven't already, be sure to check out our digital version of these modules, now available in bite-sized video format.

Finally, nominations for the Recognition of Excellence Awards close 4 April – so don't miss out!
